  7. Primary Purpose of the Position
  8. The K–12 Interventionist Teacher provides targeted academic and learning support to students who require additional assistance to meet grade-level expectations. Working within the Director of Student Support Services,, and with divisional administration the Interventionist designs and implements individualized and small-group interventions to address learning gaps and enhance student achievement.
  9. Main Duties and Responsibilities
  10. Leading, and implementing intervention
  11. Lead, co-plan and deliver evidence-based interventions in reading, writing, and mathematics for students in Kindergarten through Grade 12.
  12. Provide direct instruction through individual and small-group sessions, ensuring targeted and data-driven support.
  13. Collaborate with school leadership and teachers running intervention groups to design and implement tiered interventions within the Multi-tiered System of Support (MTSS) framework.
  14. Utilize universal screening tools to determine eligibility to intervention
  15. Define and utilize progress monitoring tools to show student growth and adjust instructional plans.
  16. Assessment and Documentation
  17. Collect and analyze data to inform instructional decisions and measure intervention effectiveness.
  18. Maintain accurate records of interventions, student progress, and communication with families and staff.
  19. Share data with teachers and student support teams to inform grade-level and school-wide instructional practices.
  20. Collaboration and Professional Practice
  21. Work collaboratively with school wide leadership to ensure consistency in instructional support across grade levels.
  22. Participate in Student Support Team (SST) meetings, providing insight on student progress and next steps when needed.
  23. Communicate effectively with families regarding student participation, goals, progress, and recommendations for continued support.
  24. Lead professional learning of Teaching Assistant to successfully implement tier 2 intervention during WIN time in the lower school.

  26. Create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive learning environment where students feel supported and valued.
  27. Encourage student engagement, autonomy, and responsibility for their own learning.
  28. Foster a growth mindset and promote resilience through positive reinforcement and individualized feedback.
  29. Certifications and Education
  30. Required
  31. Bachelor’s degree in Education, Special Education, or related field.
  32. Valid teaching certification/license (U.S. or internationally recognized equivalent).
  33. Desired
  34. Master’s degree in Special Education, or related discipline.
  35. Additional certification or training in reading intervention (e.g., Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, or equivalent evidence-based programs)
  36. Professional development or certification in MTSS or Response to Intervention (RTI).
  37. Experience
  38. Required
  39. Minimum of five years of classroom or learning support teaching experience.
  40. Proven experience implementing individualized or small-group interventions.
  41. Familiarity with data-driven instruction and progress monitoring systems.
  42. Experience collaborating in a multidisciplinary student support team.
  43. Desired
  44. Experience in international or multicultural educational settings.
  45. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  46. Required
  47. Strong understanding of differentiated instruction, learning disabilities, and language development.
  48. Expertise in evidence-based literacy and numeracy intervention strategies.
  49. Ability to interpret assessment data and use it to design targeted instruction.
  50. Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  51. Desired
  52. Knowledge of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and inclusive instructional practices.
  53. Proficiency with technology tools that support learning and progress monitoring.
